I just got a Spyderco Sage 1. The lockup seems "very early" - or "late" I don't know which is which to be honest, but this doesn't seem right. It seems that the lock should be further over, no? Should I send this back?

Thanks.

Looks great to me. I have blades that lock earlier without problems but I prefer what you have on your knife for lockup.

To me....That is perfect. If you really hate it, I have a crisp $10 bill that I can trade with you......:D

My Sage 1's lock sits more at 50%. I don't recall if it started there or started earlier and has worn in. Locks up fine though.
If it doesn't slip off or there is no blade play I'm sure it will be fine.

You want a new knife to have early lock up like that... it will ladt much longer because slowly as you use it the lock up will shift toward the center... instead of getting pushed completly off the blade tang...

That's how mine came. It didn't move much farther than that if anything

Here's where mind ended up at after 8 or so months. It's solid.
