Brand new SOG Aegis rattles--normal ?

I've just recieved my SOG Aegis about an hour ago. Cool knife for sure, however, when I shake the knife lenghtwise once it's flicked open, I can hear a rattle.

I have a SOG flash 2 and when open and shook, I can't hear any rattle, but then it's not the ame model.

Has any one noticed this in their Aegis ? Maybe it's considered normal.

Agreed, sounds like there might be a little looseness there.....

On a slightly related note, both my Trident and Flash II have had a bit more blade play than I'd like, even with the pivot fully tightened. I think some SOG models simply have that blade play in them. I could be wrong, but it's kinda odd that I keep hearing about this with several different folder models they sell. I don't think it affects the knife though, as all my SOG's have performed as well as advertised.

One my Aegis did the same thing, I took it apart and reassembled it, I removed the secondary safety.. I don't suggest you do this.. But mine is raddle-free... I hate those safetys..

My Aegis does the same thing. Whether the blade is open or closed I get a quite rattle. It's the safety lever. At least on this knife the safety has never engaged when I didn't want it to. I can't say the same for my flash 2 and ended up putting a BB in the safety hole to make sure the safety stayed off.

If it really bothers you, you can try plugging up the hole or taking the safety out all together.
