Sad I didn't know about this amazing company ages ago - happy I now know and they can take my money.

I just stumbled upon HI while looking for some good steel and I have to say that I am in love.
The blades look top quality and are an incredible value... but the real thing that has touched my heart is the soul of the company.

I know I'm 15 years behind the times but this company is amazing.
Uncle Bill seems like he was a really amazing man ...

I contacted Auntie and she was a fountain of knowledge, understanding, and generosity!
I wish I could've understood all that she told me about the Pacthar! Region..tribe..use... wow.

I can't wait to report back on my new babies.

Adding to this, I now realize the impact happening in Nepal as a result of this business. To me, that is priceless. The humanitarian relief touches me in a special way.

I feel like I could have paid twice or three times the cost and still have been satisfied. And the fact that I literally get one of the best knives on the planet - I'm just overwhelmed.

I guess I just have to buy more.

I mean.. I love my Benchmade, it's always been there for me.... but our days of 'going steady' might be numbered. I thought I had found a new 'forever-knife' when I learned about Mora.....

HI... <3

It's never too late.
I just came to know about HI a few years ago.
I've always been interested in Kukris but luckily never bought one until I discovered HI. I can only imagine what I'd have thought if I'd gotten a Kukri like machete instead. :-O
The HI blades are great and the people here too. Auntie of course takes the cake and what she does in Nepal is incredible.

Like Jens states, never to late! Dive right in. I've only been here about nine months and I've gotten in all sorts of trouble. The temptations are many. Welcome aboard.

Started the day with no intention of buying a knife.
Now I'm registered on BladeForums and have 2 Kuhkri's incoming!

That's how it all starts. Don't fret, your in good hands and there's lot of far worse and costly habits out there.

You really ain't seen nothing yet.

Yeah... Full-sizes...customs.. pocket-sized...silver-ornamented...trips to Nepal...

edit: I am looking for more information on the Pacthar Style if anyone knows about it.

Auntie is probably the most knowledgeable concerning Pacthar.

I've been on the forums for some time, but didn't really see the need of a Khuk... after all, I had a decent machete so  (silly me). I also never realized just how these HI blades were made and by whom... think old school, old world traditions by real craftsman with generations of learned skills. Plus I really like how Uncle Bill and Yangdu set up the business... "fair trade" to the max. I've watched people climb Everest for years, and I've always been fascinated by the Nepali people... I'm so glad that we can keep them working with all that's happened there of late.

Great company, great people, and GREAT blades at great prices... I'm overjoyed with every one that I own (and I'll use them all). My "decent machete" is going to rust 'cause it 'aint no KHUK!!!

stwm: Welcome to the shark infested waters of HI. I'm certain you'll find SOME little thing that will hold your interest. A word of warning to you. You may not realize it, but you have already (gasp!) succumbed to the dreaded HIKV...

Welcome to the club. I just bought my first khukri last week- Milton. Works great. Enjoy yours when you get them!

Welcome to the forum and HI, stwm

Thankyou Yangdu. That means a lot to me. I am so happy that you have created this thing which is more than a business..it is a living organism, more than knives..but a purpose and a family. It's beautiful.
