I finally got around so setting up my brand new Tormek T-8 with their SJ-250 Japanese Watersone, but the stone promptly decided to chip?!!!?
Sent customer service a message yesterday (Saturday). Hopefully I hear back Monday or Tuesday.
The standard SG-250 Waterstone works well enough, as long as I keep it clean with the fine side of the stone grader, but what a bummer! It's just not the same level of finish as the SJ-250.
I was really looking forward to using the SJ-250. It worked great for a minute, before the chip came off
How often does this happen?! I didn't inspect the SJ-250 stone well enough when it arrived, seemed the like packaging was fine, so I figured... next time I need to be more careful
Still love the T-8. It's quite expensive, but such as joy to use I'm not letting this stop me from making the most of it. Just need more gigs...
