I am curious what qualifies knife brand to have a group. There are a couple out there for example TOPS Knives, Case Winkler, Survive, GEC and Fallkniven to name a couple. I don’t see a group for them. Why is that? Just curious.

T th3ug1y0n3 It came up recently that they don’t even pay to be here.

The mystery is why so many choose not to be here. I guess they figure it’s a waste of their time. For me I appreciate the ones that do participate here and give them my business.

Buck for example does an amazing job moderating and answering questions. To the point you almost feel like family.

Check out the archives section. Survive and others that don’t participate anymore are preserved there.

eveled eveled i agree 100%. I appreciate the centralized access to so many knives, tools, axe, etc... I’ve been following a little over a year. It have been loving knives since I can’t recall, maybe 5 years old lol.

i like user/collector knives. I plan on passing them on to my kids or give aways to friend/family, not selling.

There‘a a maker or three that I follow, one more than the others. Recently been expanding and just noticed those and others not listed. Like you I also would think it to be a good move to be in here, especially free or even just fair monthly or annual dues. Hmmm anyways appreciate those that keep this site open.

Special shout out to the Beckerheads and Mr. Ethan Becker they have been very enlightening. I know there are others out there but they are the most familiar to me.

I guess most manufacturers are going with more social media, more exposure to a wider audience. I thought the thread was going to be about more knives that are not usually talked about, like French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and other makers or companies. There is talk about some French knives in the traditional forums.

Instagram has a wider audience and it’s easier to showcase what you do there. It’s probably why most manufacturers/makers don’t want to be on a forum here in 2021, everyone and their brother is on IG these days.

I actually tried out an Italian but they are already here.

In order to have a forum here, the company needs to contact the owner of BF and ask for one. They also need to provide a moderator.
►Case has their own forum on their own site. If memory serves, access to their forum requires a paid membership.
►Tops, Winkler, GEC, and Falkniven have not chosen to have forums.
►Survive is a "special case". They had a forum on BF. The owner of BF closed it due to their poor business practice of 100% up front payment coupled with 5-year waits for fullfillment. Think "Ponzi".

Ummm no. I was just wondering why other makers were not on here. I like the centralized location for information and when looking I usually come here first. The ones I listed were just for examples. And, actually through this I found some information about one of the brands that will probably save me from a headache experience.
