I have not been in the game of traditional pocket knife collecting for very long, but the following names are currently represented...

Case
Bradford Cutlery (by Case)
Queen
Queen Classics (by Queen)
Schatt & Morgan (by Queen) on order
Utica
Canal Street
Schrade
Camillus
Remington (by Camillus)
Buck
Forge De Laguiole
Tidioute (by GEC)

All, but the Forge De Laguiole (French), are American made knives.

What names are represented in your collection?

I would say that I am by no means a collector. I love knives and tools, especially hand made. But I can't afford to collect. I have but a few, but all a knives I really like.

George Wostenholm

Yeah, I'm more of an accumulator than a collector. I think I have enough (too many) now so I'm about done adding, time to start subtracting.

They say two or more of anything, is a collection... So, whether you title yourselves as collectors or not.... someone out there does consider you one, lol! ;-)

Some that come to mind, folders only to keep in mind the word "pocketknife."

Case
Schrade / Ulster / Old Timer / Uncle Henry / Primble / Old Crafty / Imperial

I'd like to pick up more of the classic Solingen brands, but many are hard to come by in unused condition. :(

I'm an Accumulator, trying to acquire the widest variety of knives and other bladed objects as possible. But the overall Accumulation also includes several smaller specific Collections, Old Timers and Swiss Army knives for examples.

I use the arbitrary number 25 to make a Collection. So neither the twenty Case knives nor the fifteen Opinel knives make a collection (yet), but the 130 Old Timers and 35 Bruckmanns do.

Like you say though, there's no rule. I suppose it depends on the item too. If you have two of a very rare car that only two known examples remain, I'd say you have a Collection. :)
