Looking forward to seeing you there. I will be available at The Shepherd of the Hills Farm from 9am to 5pm on Friday for set up of hammer-in & cutting competition equipment. (knife show set up will start on Sat. at 7am)

The hammer-in at my home shop will start at 6pm Friday. There will be signs at the intersections to my house but if anyone has trouble finding it, please call me on my home phone (417-348-0123) as I will keep it with me from 6pm on. (Please park on the street as space is limited at my shop.)

Looking forward to a good time. See you soon.

Here are a few photos from the show on Sat. They will have more demonstrations etc. today, but I was only able to make it up there for Sat.

This first one shows Brion Tomberlin demonstrating how to heat treat a blade that will be able to withstand the ABS Journeyman performance test. Today he will actually do a demonstration of the performance test with it.

Here is Mark Nevling making a sheath.

This one is Bill Miller forging out a damascus dagger.

This last one is Kyle Royer right before taking first place in the cutting competition. I enjoyed this years cutting comp. as they had something like 10 cuts to perform and the whole thing was timed. There were wood chips and water flying everywhere.

Thanks for the pictures Allen. I think that a good time was had by all, both makers & spectators.

:) Too bad that you didn't get a picture of Brion cutting the 2x4. :):):) I think that he got the toughest 2x4 stud that Home Depot has sold in a while. Luck of the draw I guess. Harvey King entered the competition this year his first time and though not winning, did very well. I think that he's hooked now and will be a competitor from now on. We had nine competitors this year and I believe that they all enjoyed themselves as well as entertaining a good crowd despite the rain storm. (A rain storm hit during the competition but since it was under a roof, the cutting went on with no stop. [The water was flying anyway from all the water bottles & milk jugs]). A big thanks to Jason Burton for setting it all up and being MC. A job well done.

It was a Kyle Royer weekend winning three knife awards as well as the cutting competition. Congrats and a big well done to Kyle and all the other award winners! Best Damascus: Kyle Royer ; Best Bowie: Bill Kirkes ; Best Hunter: Larry Inman ; Best Folder: Kyle Royer ; Best of Show: Kyle Royer.

I would like to give a big thanks to all who attended & contributed, especially Al Lawrence & Tom McGinnis! I couldn't have done it without a lot of help.

I will post more pictures as they are available.

I just want to say a big Thank you to Gary for putting this on. We had a real good time, well okay maybe not the 2X4, that was one tough sucker. Gary you did a great job and we are looking forward to next year. The anvil made it home just fine and I think the truck rode better with all that weight in the bed. Now just have to get the big boy out. Thanks again for the show and the company. And Allan thank you for posting the pics.
