Billy, it was good to get to know you. Thanks for the pictures.

Gary done a great job. He made sure everyone had a chance to be as comfortable as possible, under the circumstances. Saturday the heat was oppressive, but there was lots of shade and drinks available. We all sweated together:D. Sales were good for some and not for others. Overall, I would say slow. This might be expected for the first show of it's kind. But, at the same time, I recieved my largest order to date, plus the contacts that I made, made this a very good show for me.

It cooled off to a comfortable level by the evening on Saturday and we had time to take in the live, outdoor play "Shepherd of the Hills". What a pleasant time to sit in this outdoor theater, open sky, birds and bats doing their thing, and stepping back in time. All of the table holders had complimentary tickets for the show as well as some other tickets for the music shows in town. Complimentary country breakfast on both days just made life a little easier for table holders at this show.

Sunday cooled of considerably, thank goodness, and everybody seemed to be in good spirits. Good crowd and most stayed all day and were reluctant to leave as time for closing drew near.

Since I make it a practice to ask people what brought them to Branson, I was able to determine, to my satisfaction at least, that a high percentage of the show goers planned their vacation to Branson around the Knife Show. Several heard about it from Blade Magazine advertising, and other more local ads. Many made it a point to mention that they "collect" knives. Again, Gary Mulkey done a great job getting the word out before the show.

The Cutting Competition was exciting. It was a close decision, coming down to a "cut off". I was fortunate to pull off the win with my version of the game knife, "Shake and Bake". :D Jerry Fisk's emceeing the event was just like old times. What a treat.

I cant say enough about the hard work and effort that Gary Mulkey exerted to produce and manage this show. Lin

I was only there Saturday with Joe-Canineforge. It was hot but we had a great time!

Good meeting you Billy along with others I hadn't seen in a while. Hey, next time you're goin to take my picture, warn me and I'll pull in the gut for a proper pose :D

Gary did do a great job putting this together!

I too would like to thank Gary for all that he did to put this together. Gary is a wonderful host and made you feel as though he was inviting you into his home. He went all out to make this a comfortable and enjoyable experience for those who attended.

Demos went on throught out the weekend, and much information and friendship was shared.

Billy, it was nice meeting you and your wife.

Lin, It was good seeing you again. I much enjoyed the conversation we and Jerry had on the cutting competetion. I just may have to try that next year.

Brian

I had a REALLY good time.
The whole thing was nice and "loose". Everybody was in a good mood, dispite the intense heat on Saturday.
It seemed as if everybody was just as happy to see everyone else as they were to be there showing their wares.
It was almost like a reunion!?
We had some great demos and lots of fun. People stopping by who had never been to anything like this. I'm sure we acquired some new "converts" this weekend!
I'll be there next year for sure.

Sounds like a blast. This one is close enough to put on my calendar for next year!

It was definitely a good weekend and again many thanks to Gary for all his work in putting this together. It was great to see everybody and meet new people. Jerry put on a good cutting competition, like the competitions used to be, pure fun. I will be there next year. Those roads around Branson are something else. Up, down, all around, and narrow in places, but that is part of the charm, beautiful country.

Hey, this is Cheryl, Jerry Rados's girlfriend. We also enjoyed ourselves at Gary's Hammer-In. Thank You Gary. We will definitely be there next year. Just as a side note, we looked up the Cabinetmakers rasp and found one at http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/ for $32.95. Thanks Karl for the demonstration and idea. I believe I can do a handle now. I also have pics to share as soon as I get them downloaded and sorted. Again thanks Gary for a great time!!!

One more pic Mr. Karl Anderson he did a great demo on shaping handles!!

Branson was my first show as a maker. I was verry nervous but every one made me feel right at home. I liked watching the demos and learned alot. Looking foward to putting what I learned to use. Also my first cutting contest I will rethink handel shape alot.

Gary Mulkey did a great job putting this show together. Despite the 100-degree plus heat index, everybody had a great time (well, a few around the forge during demos may disagree? ;)) and information was being shared everywhere I went. Great first time show in a super location. Lots of MS and JS makers with tables there. I don't think there were a lot of collectors in attendance, but hopefully more collectors can make it next year. The nice Shepherd of the Hills facilities (open pavilions with ceiling fans) sure helped most beat the heat.
