Brass Bolster

Hey Everyone,

First off, I am in love with this M-43 blade, don't want to call it a knife, this thing goes beyond being a knife, but I have broken the brass bolster, I'm sure it was because i am still learning to use it correctly, and the 12"-15" inch logs i was chopping:eek:, it just cracked and popped right off :o anyways it hasn't affected the blade or anything, kept on chopping just fine. Anyways, I will be taking the blade to my friend, he is a gunsmith and some experience with blades and the such, to see if he can't make a handle for it, possibly without the flare(it just bothers my wrist a little), just wondering,if he can't; what can i do as far as getting a new one put on or the like?
 
Cool, thank you guys, that link was very informative B.C, my friend says he can do the handle, but he's left for big bear until next week, so i wait, just curious, i've noticed some people on here do have custom-made handles on their khuks just wondering.....is there a custom handle thread anywhere?
 
Bummer about the bolster breaking. But at least it's an easy fix. Remove the old handle and pins and replace with what ever material you want to and put in new pins or bolts. Good luck!!
