Brass Bolsters Corroding

Hey guys,
I just got an old Buck 110 knife passed to me and after a couple days of using it, I noticed that my right hand has turned green and the bolsters are slightly corroded.

Anyone know how to clean it up and protect the brass in a way that could survive daily use?

Clean it with any decent metal polish, including Brasso.

Use a clear wax or even a coat of polyurethane to protect; you'll have to reapply occasionally if you handle or carry the knife alot, but that's not difficult.
