Brass Cleaning Help

Be careful with Brasso, it contains ammonia, you don't want it affecting any other parts or finishes.
I carry brass bolster knives every day, but like I said, the last time I cleaned brass was 55 years ago.:) But, yeah. There's undoubtedly better stuff on the market now.

The problem with polishing brass on knives is not one of getting it shiny. That's easy.
The problem is removing all of the polish residue after you are finished. Most polishes dry white and are easily seen in crevices.
So- maybe 2 toothbrushes- one to remove all the polish residue.

Nev-R dull or Blue magic.....Used never dull in the Coast Guard and blue magic on my Harley.chrome...Both work well for all metals and leave a silicone type film when finished....

I would say brass and Q-tips. After that I would you Renaissance Wax to seal it so it does not tarnish as quick.

I especially like these double-ended toothbrushes for dogs. The shape and angle plus two different sizes make them very versatile and you can buy them cheaply in large packs.

I just cleaned up an older work knife I carried at one time after fleshing up the edge.
