I was reading the thread on the custom knife forum about Ed Fowler knives. A comment was made about the old saying "brass has no class" and got me thinking, is this how most people feel? I for one like brass. I think it complements diffent handle materials, especially my favorite, stag. It looks good with various woods and micarta. I had two Randall model 25 trappers. One had a brass guard and pommel, the other had nickel silver and an aluminum pommel. I liked the brass version better and sold the other. How do you guys feel about this? Just curious how other makers look at brass.

Duh now I remember that thread. Old age catching up. :D Thanks Mike sorry for the repeat.

Boy I'm I a moron, I even posted on that thread. Sorry guys.

Brass kicks ass... but only for users. Not my call, either. Seems the consumers like more esoteric stuff to spend the big bucks on. Exceptions: Collaborations of Gib and Chuck. :D

I am a firm believer in the benefit of diversity in knifemaking. If one makes a good, nice knife, someone will like the results. Pigeonholing anything as incorrect or bad is a crock, IMO.
