WHEN TAKEIN KNIVES APART, FOLDERS,FIXED,ETC. WHATS THE BEST WAY TO REMOVE THE PINS THAT HAVE BEEN PEEN OVER? THANKS, BOB

I just pop the scales off and hacksaw the pines thru so they are flush with the knife tang, then use a punch to knock out the little pieces, or you can try to punch them out. Good luck!

You need to grind or cut away the end of the pin where its been expanded. If you don't it will be really difficult to take the scales and everything apartwithout damaging something, even if you just split the scales off.
Two good ways to do it are:
1. Grind, file, or sand the tops of them pretty heavily. You need to take off at least about 1/16".
2. Drill the heads out. If you center punch the head of the pin and then drill into it wiht a drill thats slightly larger than the pin, you can drill away the part thats been expanded. If you do a really good job centering and everyitng you canend up witha small ring popping off of the pin head around the drill.

I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer... but I've got the sharpest knife in the room.
