I have been hanging onto, gripping, cutting, stabbing, slicing, chopping, beating, and generally using everyknife that has ever even hit the radar for over 20+ years....I have had bad knives....good ones...and really great ones, but it wasn't till today...that I went crazy on a knife...OH sure, I have broken knives before, but this is the day that I felt compelled to put the BS to rest and KILL a knife....I read alot about TRIDENT knives, sooo...I was already, ready to do some ass whooping...but after a little " testing the waters" I knew I was in a whole new world of knife....after the balance, feel, edge, and overall performance...I thought..."lets see if I can bet my ass on this thing". Ladies and gentleman...boys and girls...I could not kill this knife. I imagine that I could kill it, with the help of tools...or my truck..but with my bare hands...no way. I sliced branches, cardboard, foam, leather...I chopped (as well as a 5" blade could) I stabbed, really hard, through stuff...I beat the blade through everything I could think of, or find. I batoned, I pryed......I got tired... this is one tough knife...forget knife....its just one tough mother. It is alot of money, I traded my Ratweiler for it, and I think that I am the luckiest guy out there...I love this knife....after I hammered the edge through pennies, and shaved my arm afterwards...I was done...I couldn't really even scrape the finish... I will say..I didn't do anything that I wouldn't do with a knife...but I tried to be creative. I don't believe that I or anyone would ever need to chissel through stone...or cut concrete...I just don't see that in my "SURVIVAL" future...I could be wrong. I am no expert, I am a guy who has owned alot of knives, and cut stuff with all of them, and I can say without any doubt.....THIS IS A TOUGH KNIFE!!! I know that there are alot more "expert" people out there...who can explain all the reasons why this isn't the one and only....but in my blue collar way of looking at things...I hope that you guys get one, and fall in love with it the way I did, it's a friggin awesome knife. My nephew, who whatched the test...said " It's supermans knife" (he's 8) and I had to smile....well, I owned supemans knife, right. Sell your stuff, and buy one....I already regret owning half of my knives, after today(don't even think I'm selling all my Barkies..lol.)....thats my story and I'm sticking to it. I know that this isn't the right forum(knife tests) but, I'm going on the idea of this thing being the one knife I'll need, no matter what. THAT MAKES IT...A...SURVIVAL KNIFE. And this is my forum, I don't even read the other ones anymore....Gene PICS of test coming !!!

I just did a shoulder rig for one. I must say, it'll be a future purchase of mine as well. Simply a great, tough and rugged, well made knife.

Great write up and pics! I have to say, a Trident has been on my wants list for a while. It's one of the few I haven't played with yet. I really liek the look of the sculpted handles.

gunknifenut,
Great write up and I could not agree with you more. Maciej sure know how to build a knife that is a real "tank killer".
I have a TCFM-02, an Oberland 01, and the Oberland 03 and am saving up for a TT01 sometime in the future.
The only knives that I have that come close to the Trident/Crusader Forge knives are the Fehrmans (4) made from 3V.

Once again, thanks for the great write up and pictures...makes me like mine even more now.

Ciao

 :D

cool review... that is an awesome looking knife....i have wanted to check out a trident for a long time now....:o

Yes, Maciej uses S30V, hollow grinds the blade and triple hardens it. Some see the hollow ground blade as a weakness but there is nothing weak about the Trident blades!

I would have guessed the same thing...I know I would have been wrong now! I thought that the knife was "questionable" from the claims made on there site. I always think to myself...yah sure...but this time I was happily wrong, and the knife is a keeper..I am going camping in the north east this summer...in my old stomping grounds..I can't wait. Gene

So I take it you like the knife? LOL Great write up, and I'm glad it found such a great home. Sitting in the safe never did do it much justice.
