Silly question, but I was wondering if there was a reason a Vanguard with aluminium guard and pommel has never been made? Is it just looks or is there a tech reason? I know the other fixed blades 119,105,103,102 you can find with the brass on wood and the black with al. But the black handle Vanguard still comes with brass. I'm just curious.

Just a guess here,
But maybe it has something to do with the tang of the vanguard being threaded, and the aluminum wouldnt hold a thread well???
Maybe without the brass on the pommel the knife is very blade heavy?
Maybe I am just crazy?? :D
I know I have seen a model or 2 with silver colored pommels and fingerguards, but maybe they were just nickel silver...

I didnt realize the vanguard had a threaded tang.I thought it was just pinned. Humm I ask a dumb qeustion and get a good answer. Thanks.
