you may have seen this show on abc-it takes a few "problem" kids and puts them into the wilderness, outward bound style. I's kind of interesting to watch; If you catch it, look for the outdoors skills.

I saw that, the one where a few problem kids from britain were sent to a ranch in Utah. I kept thinking to myself, what lucky and undeserving little pieces of sh!!t.

Those whiny little Brits are on a cool ranch in Utah and they're still bitching and moaning at how bad their lives are and thumbing their noses at American western culture.

I personally would've had the best time of my life there. Utah seems like just my kind of place.

I was most impressed with that TV show.

Not only with the results from the whiny spoilt brats on the course, but with the patience, skills and dedication of the camp staff,

Lends a lot to my belief in character building in youngins through controlled hardship.

Not very PC, but very, very effective,

Ah, those kids were F*ed up. They should make them stay until they know how to survive well enough to hike they're way back to a city.

Too true. I've seen too many of these "boot camp" type of shows, and the end is usually the same: at the end, they're going to show all the kids happy and well-adjusted, racing home to hug their moms and dads, and testifying how they were so wrong, and now everything will be different...

...and in eight months' time, some newspaper will do a story on how all but two of the kids went right back to their old ways.

They should send the parents with 'em! Or, like Underaged! says, keep them in the field for longer and longer periods of time until they outgrow their parents' influence.

My thoughts exactly. Why spend the time to straighten these kids out and then send them back to the parents who screwed them up in the first place? The whole family needs to learn a lesson, not just the kids.
