Who carries the Bark River Bravo 1 bushcrafter sheath, JRE or Sharpshooter? Just got one in a trade, and don't like the kydex sheath. Want a gear sheath.

I hated the kydex sheath that came with my Micarta handled B-1. :barf:

This is the style I use. :D

It works well for me.

I have the leather, and it's tops. Bark River does a much, much better job with their leather than they do with Kydex, IMHO. Their kydex tends to be pretty rough.

I also have a Bravo 1 that came with a Kydex sheath. I really disliked the Kydex sheath.

I researched and asked around. I decided on the Loveless Style Pouch Sheath (made by Sharpshooter). It can be found at KSF and TKC.

After using it a few weeks, I am very happy with it.

The correct sheath for you all depends on how high you want the knife to ride on your belt.

I have two b-1's the first is KyDex and carried on my belt in warm weather, with a Micro-Canadian piggybacked. itworks well.
The second is carried in the loveless style pouch sheath from Sharpshooter this one is used when carrying a pack or heavy winter coat, it is used with the home made cobra knot baldric as taught by K. estela. This set up keeps the knife out of the way but still easy to get to in a hurry.

P.S. Loveless style sheath was bought from Derrick at KSF

Thanks. I have a Talfuchre sheath with a dangler that I got in a trade, it was for a Walter Davis bushcraft. The Davis now has a BRKT Sharpshooter sheath, and I tried the Bravo1 in the Talfuchre. No luck, but I took my ML Kephart, which fits great in the Talfuchre sheath, and used the ML sheath for the Kephart, for the Bravo1. Whew. I am still contemplating the Savage and JRE sheaths, thanks guys.

I actually just got my bravo 1 the other day. Also got a second hand Martin Swinkels kydex sheath, so +1 on Martin's work. He makes kydex or leather, although I've only had experience with his kydex one. You can also contact him, and get him to make you a custom sheath, like kydex lined leather, or just plain leather/kydex.

here is a pic of one of his kydex and leather B1 sheaths (from his website)

On a side note, why does everyone dislike the factory kydex that comes with the Bravo 1? I do agree its pretty thin, and feels flimsy, but when I had the bravo 1 in the factory sheath, it didn't rattle at all, and seemed to have decent retention, as it took some froce to get it out, of course this is my frist fixed blade, so I may not be used to a kydex sheath, and how much force it takes, but I know that if the handle got snagged, and it was on yoru belt, surely you would feel the force it needed to get the knife out of it?

I use both the factory kydex, but use the BRKT leather sheath designed for the B-1 more.

thats what mine looks like, I thought they wern't meant to come with teklocks, just the belt loop, as you can't just clip it off and on
