OK, question is, what is the preferred methopd for using the RMJ hawks (particularly the Shrike) for breaching:
1.) Doors
2.) Glass
I notice on the site that RMJ comes right out and says that one can break the beard on their hawks because of the design (but is worth that risk for the hooking ability). So I assume the spike end is used to break glass (is there enough weight to break glass using the side of the head? Auto glass is notoriously difficult to break when the windows are rolled all the way up and fully supported.)
On doors, where you have some prying to do, do guys still use the spike mostly for that, or drive the toe of the head into the door/jamb junction and pry that way? Or do they even bother prying the door, and instead just drive the spike into/behind the lock and break the lock out of the door?
Sorry for the dumb questions, but almost all of my hawk work has been in the woods, and with hammer polls. For a hawk purposed for combat and breaching I see the value of the spike, I just don't know exactly how they are used.
