OK folks...

I'm looking for some input here.

Recently, ATC has been getting alot of testimonials about how the Vietnam Tactical and Next Generation Ranger are seeing preferred use over other, heavier tools to port windows, open doors, and rip locks open.

We have known about this inherent capability in our Tomahawks for quite some time, but frankly, under anticipated how often they would indeed be used for such a task.

We have a very specialized tool already prototyped for this kind of thing, but I think it's too niche for everybody.

What features would YOU want to see in an ATC Tomahawk for opening everyday stuff that's closed? And, what kind of everyday stuff WOULD you want to know you COULD open with it?

Let me have it.

Stupid idea, reinforce the synthetic handle with a metal/lead core( for added strength.
Plus, a metal hammer/spike end on the bottom of the handle.

Also, those "modifcations" that were described in that Backwoodsman magazine article.

Actaully I don't think it's stupid...I was thinking something similar. Reinforce the handle and on the butt have a detachable/threaded attachment point for a variety of tools - hydrant wrench, gas cut-off, prying spike. On the head instead of a spike on the opposite side of the Hawk head make it a small hoe like on a Pulaski. That might be useful for prying, scraping and hooking.
Stay Safe,

I started a thread some time ago on another knife forum about a rescue knife. but this this is brilliant. I dont know about putting a hydrant wrench on a hawk, i know some of the hydrants here require a breaker bar to open. ,but the scoop on the reverse is a swell idea. I was thinking maybe a seat belt cutter, slightly in front of the handle, and possibly a longer lanyard to fit over heavy gloves. The gas gut off idea i also like just am not sure how to implement something like that. anyway theres my .02.
