That's right. I am talking about my Ouroboros. It is a cool knife and I like it a lot; always have since I first saw it. It is a good usable EDC.
But
The action was never quite there. Even after some pivot adjustment and lube. I have never taken it apart / still has the loctite or what ever from the factory.
In fact I finally developed a new way for myself to one hand close it :
Hold the knife horizontally so the maximum weight of that short blade had the best leverage on the pivot.
As the blade started to move downward (I wouldn't call it drop downward) I would roll my wrist over so the full weight of the blade helped to close it all the way. As opposed to some of my other compression locks which DROP with enough momentum to just swing up and closed all the way with no wrist.
So . . . anyway . . . while I carried the knife it was like this.
I put it in my "Knife Safe" (a few drawers and cookie sheets stacked up
).
For months now it has gotten no use; only jiggled around on the sheets while I dug out an EDC for the day and occasionally pawed and opened just to admire it but no actual fidgeting or use.
Last night I busssed it out and put it in my pocket and carried it around the house and this morning I was again pawing it and admiring it and fidgeting with it and . . .
and . . .
the dambed hesitation in the pivot has disappeared and it closes just as I would like :
hold horizontal and press the lock and it actually DROPS and swings closed without any thought.
Just like a real knife !
What has happened here ? ? ? ?
Has some kind of solvent in the teflon washers finally gassed out and the teflon has hardened / got thinner / flatter ? ? ?
Has the G10 scales done some similar thing and are now slightly harder / thinner / flatter ? ? ?
Or does it have something to do with the obit of Mars and it's aspects with the other planets ?
