I just hit the "new posts" tab and go from there. I can see every new post, new thread.
I don't read them all but it gives me a chance to check out everything...and yes I do have a lot of late night time.

I do the same thing. I like the new posts feature because it gives me an overview of the board, and what directions the (if any...) the forums are going.
