I dunno guys. The abalone porridge that they serve here is awfully tempting...

It's about 1,000 Korean Won to one US Dollar...

Oh, and gas is just under 2,000 Korean Won per liter, which converts to about $8 per gallon.

The current exchange rate is 1,030.3 Korean Won per USD; that's a bit more than I'm used to for breakfast, but food in the US is more abundant and less expensive than in many countries. Also, from the menu, I'd guess that's a pretty nice place, probably geared toward foreigners, which increases the cost.

I'd go with the Korean Breakfast...

When in San Francisco years ago, stayed at a Japanese themed hotel. Had the Japanese breakfast. One of the best ever.

What is "Sea Laver"??

Found it -
Sea lettuce, sea laver, lettuce laver, laitue de mer (Ulva lactuca) is quite a different plant altogether and not related at all to the seakale, a member of the cabbage family. Its thin, crinkled, lettuce-like leaves pass from pale to bright to dark green as they grow and age. It is a mild in flavour and exported fresh from France. When dried, it is reminiscent of spinach in smell and appearance. It has a worldwide distribution, and is possibly the most widespread of the edible green seaweeds. It can be used raw or cooked.

Definitely sounds good....

Upon reading the Japanese that accompanies the description, which is やきのり, it would mean fried "nori," which means the Japanese seaweed sheets, but roasted or something. My daughter loves the stuff.

How could you pass up the bean paste stew??

Let alone the kimchi ... which always seems to be associated with a fruit plate. Odd, that.

sea laver is korean slang for sea liver. sea liver is what you get when you drink to much at sea. some newbie sea drinkers actually puke their liver in to the sea.

hence... sea laver
