Breakfast Contest Discussion Thread

Heading out of town for a week and a half, but I am definitely in for this one.. best part of this contest is that if you don't win, you still win! Great idea Derek, this will be good, I will have to make a breakfast cookbook from the entries :drool::applause::very_drunk:

Yes they do, although I would rather see someone cutting up steak with a BK9 or 13 or something, but yeah, the kitchen knives will work.

Folks, keep your eyes on this one, he gets crazy with the food, and makes it pretty as heck too.
 
Breakfast....well, it depends on where you wake up in the world; it's not always bacon and eggs.....

Who cares, it's too confusing; besides, I'm a simple man with simple tastes, in need of simple rules. I haven't the foggiest what the criteria is, and I'm not going to win anyway, so just enjoy the eye candy, especially the balut.;)

P.S. I did pick up one small detail....I disqualified myself for responding to your chat with my chat....bon apetit anyway
 
I only eat breakfast at the Gatherings, I can't get up and start cooking. I need you guys here to cook for me year round, I'm starving!
 
I moved the chat over to here. Alnamvet, great pictures, but the contest requires that you MAKE the breakfast yourself. :thumbup:

Well, obviously, I care. Otherwise I wouldn't have put it in my rules. There aren't that many to abide by, and given that there is a whole 'nother thread to do the conversating in (which happens to be moving at a much quicker pace than the actual contest thread) I don't see why that would be too difficult to adhere to. The rules I posted aren't that difficult, most would take care of themselves, but it is fairly typical to request that people refrain from chatting in a contest thread as that way posts can count as entry numbers which can be drawn out of a hat or the like. If you feel like you aren't going to win, then why would you deliberately ignore the rules and post anyways?

And how is it too confusing? Make breakfast using a Becker knife. Take pics. Post them. That's pretty simple. There are some other things about posting pics and me not being associated with Ethan or Ka-Bar or Bladeforums for all the legal reasons and whatnot, but really there isn't anything that confusing in there.

All in all, a little consideration goes a long way.

The pics you posted were awesome, and would definitely give anyone a run for their money, so if you made those dishes then I see no reason why you would think you couldn't win.

Man, those are not pictures I need to see after I've skipped breakfast.
The sushi for breakfast made me laugh, I used to do that a lot in college. of course I was waking up at noon anyway...
 
I'm a huge fan of non-breakfast foods for breakfast. I had posted this on one of the Sunday breakfast threads:

We had breakfast for supper last night (steak, eggs and raw-fries) and diced the taters with a modded BK-5. Doesn't qualify for the contest but it was yummy anyway.
