How? This thing is SO stiff! Even after hours of working it.

Howdy. Clay has a tip on loosening up fhms on his xtreme site. Use the search engine. It involves a wide bladed screwdriver and a towel!

Flex the handles sideways both ways for a long time, don't do it too hard otherwise you'll end up majorly bending the handles or breaking them. I never had any luck loosening up the handles using the screwdriver method, it just screwed up (no pun intended) the handles, even though I used a towel/cloth.

Believe me, I've had to loosen up 3 FHM's and they were all manipulatably loose within 3-6 days.

As Balisongman says - be careful. That's the key. I've loosened up over a dozen using Clay's method w/no problems, but the handle tweaking method works as well.
