I find the magic in breathing control to add strength when I deliver a punch or strike. usually I hold my breath within and release only after a couple or 3 strikes that I delivered. I find it beneficial also, that when I was hurt in tournament or in practice or accidentally hit by an object, I can overcome those pains.

As a medicine, I do breathing control when I feel I am sickly or having a mild flu.

I can put strength on my arms up to my tip of my fingers by controlling my breath and spread all to where I want it to be directed.

How about you there...

Thank you to hear your coming experiences how you can benefit from breathing control.

Stdalire,

This is a current discussion on "breathing" at a traditional karate site I participate in: You may want to check the thread out:

I am certainly interested to hear what the FMA and grappling artists think on this topic as well.

Thanks,

I'm glad this issue came up! As I was evaluating my performance after a tournament, I realized that I was holding my breath when I attacked, and I found myself tiring quickly.
I've known breathing is very important I just keep forgetting to breath!
I guess I have to practice being AWARE of my breath!

Sing: Thank you for the ref. thread, I am not aware there such other MA practitioner who are giving attention to this subject.

Nonetheless, we are interested to hear from other MA's as comments, if they do practice of it or not.

Thanks
