I decided to just take the dogs close to home today and headed down to a nearby beach.
I take the back trails to the beach as I love the long grasses and marshland here, it is so different to my usual terrain !

The dogs love it as well because there is the scent of rabbits everywhere,

This time of year I virtually have the beach to myself, I saw maybe three groups of people throughout the walk !

The Pacific Northwest Coast Indians used the Bull Kelp to make their fishing gear and storage containers.
All coastal First Peoples of British Columbia made fishing lines, nets, ropes, harpoon lines and anchor lines from Bull kelp.....pretty useful stuff !
