Hey guys!

Bryan was kind enough to design and make a knife for me, and this is how the beauty looks:

He just finished it, so now it's time to think about a sheath. Since this will be a survival/camp/all-around knife, I was thinking about a nylon (Cordura) survival sheath, with a front pouch for extra gear (mainly a MT), drop-down design and a leg strap, with some sort of quick release belt hoop.

Over at the Sheaths Forum somebody suggested to get a kydex sheath with holes spaced out just like the sheath on a ESEE-6, and then get the ESSE-6 Molle back from ESEE. The idea sounds good and I'm sure it would work, but it would get expensive :(. So that's why I'm thinking about an all-nylon sheath something like this:

I don't know who makes this, but that's basically what I'm looking for. Can anyone suggest a sheath maker that can come up with something like that?

99% sure that is an RAT Cutlery RC5 sheath made by Eagle Industries... you may want to check their website. There's another company out there making a good quality cordura sheath as well, I think it's survival sheath systems but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Spec Ops Combat Master...they have a 6" and 8" model. Comes in ACU, Black, Coyote Brown and Foliage Green.

Blackhawk Airborne Deluxe...5.5" and 7" models. Black, Coyote Tan and Olive Drab

All I can think of right now.

I would have Bryan make a leather sheath with a pocket. His leather work is as good as any. Great looking knife.

Hi all,
Fishhiker, thanks for the kind words on the leather sheath making.
LUV, and I talked about it and he really wants a sheath like what he is looking for.
I am not sure about any others either so hopefuly LUV gets a answer to the type of sheath he is wanting.

That is a GREAT looking knife that Bryan made up for you! It looks like it will make for a perfect bush knife. In terms of sheaths go the the ESEE website and look at the Condura sheath that they used to supply with the ESEE 5 which is made by Eagle Ind., who makes great gear. It's exactly like what you described and it should be a perfect it you your blade. Another place to check is www.specopsbrand.com, who also make a couple great sheaths and they come in 2 sizes.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Spec-Ops

Looks like Survival Sheath Systems (Survival Sheath model) and Spec-Ops (Combat Master model) are exactly what I'm looking for ! Now I just have to talk to Bryan and see how we can order one of them .

And yes, that knife looks absolutely terrific ! I wanted something similar to the ESEE-6, and Bryan made it just perfect!
Can't wait to get it!
