This is a replica of a German 6th century Breitsax. Tried to keep it as close to what I could find in researching it. It has a 16 1/2 inch blade about 1 3/4 inch wide and almost 3/8th thick with no distal taper. Warncliff (kinda) blade with my damascus of 1095 and 15n20 with handle 10 1/2 inches long. Top fitting blade fits in is damascus as well as the end cap but all others are fire blued multible times. This is a monster in the hand and swings like a bat. Handle is oak as that is one of the common types found in Germany. Tang goes all the way to endcap that is threaded. That is not original but wanted to make sure it didnt come off in use. Hope you like it. Dan

Dan, I like it very much

Is it a convex grind blade?

Thanks for all the nice comments. The disposition of this blade is that the client stuck me with it and has not paid for it so its up for grabs. It is a convex grind.
