Brend Fighting Hatchet

hi guys im new to the tomahawk but love edged weapons a question is the brend fighting hatchet really a good weapon or does it just look great any info would be helpful THANKS
 
Andy sent me one of these last go-around in the gulf.

I switched out the sheath for a more durable / swifter draw modification and wrapped the handle in a thin layer of foam and then duct taped it (100-mile and hour tape). This gave an enhanced purchase on the 'hawk and buffered vibration / shock should either hard / thick bone be struck or the 'hawk be used for extraction or escape from a vehicle or building.

The edge was fine tuned with fine diamond hone and then Spyderco ceramic stick.

The size and weight of the Brend make it a compact carry and the spike is very effective as a breaching aid or weapon. Overall I prefer the VN TAC 'Hawk or the Rogers Rangers 'hawk but the Brend has strong attributes if you do some work with it as described.
