Just in, one big honkin supah shweet bowie from a real up and coming Bladesmith. If you folks don't know Brett yet, you're missing out on some good stuff! Having attended the ABS Bladesmithing school, and having Roger Massey as one of your teachers ain't too bad of a pedigree. This bowie is some really fine, clean work. Blade itself is forged 5160H and is 10.5" long from tip to front of oval stainless guard. Stainless collar and gorgeous stripey maple handle, that is big enough for almost anybody's hands. Maybe even megalobyte's! ;) :p :D

Danbo,

I came across a couple nice big blocks of Madrone Burl ;) and just mailed them to Brett.
We will see what he has done with them in Atlanta.

Yeah, I only spent about $45 to make mine...of course I ain't got no fancy photo editing software or the skill to use it :D

Overall my pictures have been much better though, even with my limited photo editor.

Don, these are Dan's best pics to date, scary huh. :)

Brett is one of those makers whose quality of workmanship so far outstrips his asking price that you'd be nuts not to get on his list if you are at all into forged blades. This is another fine bowie that Danbo should send to me immediately for a decent picture. :p

Cheers,

Roger

anyone wishing to have a good image editing program need not look further than this freeware program

http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/serif/ph/ph5/index.asp

PhotoPlus will do everything you wish for web posting of images. The one thing I can't find out how to do is to create constrained cropping to specific sizes for printing like is available with some programs and their support so far has not given me a solution.

the key to knife photography is the lighting and that can be quite simple as has been described in many a thread and in about 10 min I can teach anyone how to do it and get good results if they follow the procedures.

I have quite a few imaging software programs but the PhotoPlus 5.5 is very good and is freeware.

I sincerely appreciate the comments posted here. The test was disappointing but I should be okay after numerous hours of therapy!

Thanks again,
Brett

That's a nice looking Bowie. Very nice wood is hard to beat for looks on a Bowie, IMO.
