Dudes, never really wanted to be that guy bragging about his new knife. But what I got is just too damn cool, wanna share my enthusiasm. Brian Andrews Slim Jim, O-1 steel, Desert Ironwood, crazy sharp right out of the box, top craftsmanship. A creative design, perfectly executed. Here's his pics for now, will update w/ my own before long.

As pretty as this knife is, I'm gonna use the hell out of it.

rough forged finish and desert ironwood are a great combo FOR beating the hell out of. I think they look better well used. That'd make for a sweet bird and trout knife, that's for sure.

speaking of Brian, he just finished up a new project
check out his MINI-TERRASAUR

He wanted to make basically a more wilderness and survival friendly Mora on steroids, and went with the Terrasaur platform to make a craft friendly super survival knife. I talked with him after he finished it today, it is around 3 and some change ounces. Should be great for even the ultralighters! It was all Brian's baby, I didn't have any say in the design and am glad he went nuts with it!

awesome looking knives... i love them both...:D that ironwood on that "slim jim" is amazing...

That mini-Terrasaur is awesome. I cant wait to check out the full size terrasaur I have on the way. I think that mini would be sweet with a 3.5in blade.

MINI-TERRASAUR @ 3-ish oz -hmmmmmmmm :D

1/8 or 3/32"? 4" blade?

the Slim Jim is certainly a handsome blade too :)

You guys are all WWAAAYYY too kind! But I do very much appreciate all the nice comments.

Actually, I only do stock removal. I ground the knife the way I wanted, and before putting the handle on did a "forced patina" on it. It has been talked about before on BF, but is basically a combo of cold blue, mustard and bleach (at least the variation I do. There are LOTS of twists to this method for sure). I like the look myself. I have an O1 kitchen knife with this finish and it looks the same as the day I made it.

That mini T (or whatever I am going to call it) is 3/32" :D
