Brian Dennehy's Character in First Blood: Medal of Honor?

So I was watching Rambo: First Blood again tonight, and I noticed that Brian Dennehy's character, Will Teasle, as he walks into his office after the National Guard blows up the mine, has a purple heart, a bronze star, and what seems to be a Medal of Honor....am I wrong?

Its at the 1:03:47 mark if anyone else is interested....has anyone read the books and can tell me what they were for?

I never noticed, now I gotta watch it again. Its a great movie by the way. I loved the first one and the newest one, with the first one being my favorite overall. The middle two were so far fetched. Shooting arrows with a 1000 grain bomb on the end 100's of yards away........LOL. Ramming a tank into a helicopter.........LOL.

I had and may still have the book of the first one. Cant remember if I sold it or not. I read it long ago but cant remember if it was mentioned........darn......now I gotta see if I still have the book.....lol.

I read the book back in the 80's, and if I remember it right, Teasle was a decorated Korean War vet. What the decorations were for, I can't remember. I may have the book here, and if I can find it, I'll post up and let you know. (I still have at least three down boxes to unpack from our move last year. )
