I closely copied a knife Brian Goode made for his daughter. He just did it better. It is a gift for a great lady I know who works as a paramedic. It has a sheath made for BDU pants and although I need better pictures, it is sweet. I took this on an iphone and didn't give it any love.

Although I don't know Brian personally, he has been an early inspiration to me for his simple, effective designs. I mean that in the best way, and I have seen several others who feel the same.

This knife is a nice performer out of CPM 154 at 60 HRC and is sized for a ladies' hand and easy carry, conceal. Thanks, Brian for your design, It's the only copy I will be making, and of course, I would never sell a copy of one of your or anyone else's original knives. It's #14 for me, #15 and #16 have scales and are almost done, #17-23 are on the bench post HT. I feel that by #25 I might decide to sell some new models.

Nice knife Erik. I also really like Brian Goode's knife designs!

You have done a good job of it!

Excellent work Erik  You did a fine job of capturing Brian's design.
IMHO, there's nothing wrong with taking inspiration from another knifemaker, as long as you give them the credit for their hard work.

You did good bro ;)

After sharing many a post over the past 10 yrs or so, I finally met Brian in person at this past years BLADE SHOW. He is as fine a gentleman in person as he is on the forums.
His knives on the other hand, as awesome as they look in the pictures he posts, they're even better in person  ;)

Again, nice work

Dude thats AWESOME in MANY ASPECTS! You did a great job brother. I cant wait to show this to my dughter. SWEET!!

Thank you Brian. I know you inspire a lot of makers and I am certainly thankful for your gracious contributions to others.

Take care, I hope we meet some day.

Erik

I am honored man. It's a handy little knife for sure. I make a slightly larger version I called Whitetail 101 and I'll be making myself one of those soon I hope. I really appreciate your take on the knife! My little girl will be thrilled to see it.

I'll look for that Whitetail. Maybe that's the first knife I buy from a custom maker for myself. Here's a picture that shows more detail and flaws, and also the sheath picture (meant to be carried inside the pocket). I took these pictures in a hurry today before work, but good or bad, they tell a fair story. I delivered the knife at work and she was thrilled.

For those who don't know what a BDU pant is, just think of sticking this in a cargo pocket.

Thanks for the inspiration and design, Brian. I can tell you that some here have told me privately that you are a good guy - no doubt. I hope your daughter likes that a paramedic lady will be carrying a knife like hers to help people.

Erik

Nice work on the sheath also! Hope she enjoys. My daughter says there both great!
