I am on a continuing quest for user-grade handmade Wharncliffe-style blades.

I presently have

Elishewitz King (big thumb "stair")
Elishewitz Cortex (round thumb stud)

I am currently thinking that the Brian Tighe Pinnacle Wharncliffe is right down my alley. I am not a big fan of thumb studs however. Brian makes a thumb "square" version of the Pinnacle.

Any comments on the relative ease of use on these "squares". I have used round thumb disks, like on the Terzuola ACTF and the Benchmade Elishewitz Stryker, and they were quite satisfactory.

I really don't see myself getting to handle one of these before purchasing from a dealer. I also don't really consider handling a CRKT Tighe Tac to be a reasonable facsimile of the experience.

Any opinions offered are appreciated.

I have a Tighe Viper which has a square thumb disk. It is inset into the blade and looks very good. I like it.

I am left-handed and I prefer the thumb disks to studs.

I have two Tighes with the square thumb "discs". I find these to be equal to or even better to get a purchase on than the round ones. They look great and they don't catch on my pockets. I say better because sometimes my thumb slips on the round ones and on these-it does not.

Two thumbs up to the square ones!

Daniel

Brian's work is superb and I like the thumb disk. Try Les Robertson, True North or Brian directly.
