I'm thinking about buying a folder fromBrian Tighe. What do you think of them, and which model do you like best.

Roller:
Though I do not own one I have handled quite a few and they have always been exceptional examples of craftsmanship by anyone's standards.
My personal favorite to date has been the Tighe Tac,in carbon fiber and Ti bolsters, good size and good feel.

The Tighe Tac is on my to get list in the near future.

Brian's work is immaculate. Very clean and precise. I'm waiting on a mosaic damascus/ ivory folder. You can see many of the models he offers on the CKG site, but he does custom touches and design too. The wait is not short. I particularly like how he complements mosaic work, he doesn't forge his own but he has superb taste. For a simpler knife it's tough to fault the Tighe Tacs.

I purchased a fancy Mini Pinnacle for my wife. She likes it very much. It locks up solidly and feels good in the hand. If you have good sized hands, however, I'd recommend the full-sized knife.

Incidentally, it is the exact knife shown on page 57 (top middle) of the July/August American Handgunner. It's pretty cool to own the actual knife that has appeared in a magazine!

Brians work is beautiful.
I lean towards his art style knives. But the quality of all his knives is top. The knife he won the award with at the Canadian Guild show was a gorgeous combination of tac style and art.
Maybe somebody has a picture of it or a link to it. It definately was best of show.

I own a Neck ALO by Brian. Great knife with exceptional fit and finish.

His folders are great also and I'm sure that one will be in my future.

I have owned several of Brian's knives and they were all top notch quality. His attention to detail is supurb!
Currently he is building me a damascus PEN! Not a pen knife, but a pen out of Stamascus with gold fittings. I am very excited about this project and if it turns out anything like his knives, I know I'll be more than satisfied! (This is the first time I have ever comissioned a knifemaker to make me a custom pen, so as you may have guessed I have a high opinion of Brian.)

Take Care,
Al

It's always curious to me why it takes some makers so long to "catch on". Ive been selling Brian's knives for 5 years.

Brian is easily one of the most underated makers in the US.

He is easily one of the top 5 makers in Canada.

Brian is worthy of all the praise he receiving here and in Blade, American Handgunner and of course there is that little article in Tactical Knives about the Vanguard D/A Auto's , that includes Brians knife the Orion II.

Look for Brian knives to continue to rise in demand.

His new Tighe Pan is one of my favorites.

A lot of people guess what ALO stands for. It stands for "Air Letter Outter". You stick th e knife in some one and it lets out all the air in them.

I have a Tighe TAC w/ tanto blade....what workmanship. I have about 10 custom knives and the fit and finish is second to none. Service also. I wanted the clip mounted above the piviot pin so I called Brian and he said he would remount it for the cost of shipping, but to my surprise he refinished the entire knife and now it looks brand new.

You can't go wrong.

Have one of his Orion Autos.Actually one of my favorites.Very well done.

have a"knife"day

Hello All,

I will throw in a couple of good words for Brian any day. First, his modern tactical upscale designs are unique and one of my favorites. When you see a Tighe knife you know it.

His knives carry an excellent fit and finish - he tells me that he assembles and disassembles each knife until it is just right. His experience as a machinist also shows at this level. (His contoured bolsters on his presentation folding dagger are amazing.)

Another thing, he is a great fellow to visit with. I have been personally excited to see so many publications showcase Tighe Knives.

You can't go wrong here.
