I received my Nirk Tighe in the mail yesterday... I am very pleased with it.
Brian creates very innovative designs that are outstanding in every respect.
Specifications
BLADE SIZE: 4" in BG-42
TOTAL SIZE: 9 1/4"
BLADE MATERIAL: Stainless BG42 Steel 3D Carved
FRAME: Titanium - Carved - Electric Dark Blue/Purple Anodized
WEIGHT: 4.2 oz. (super-lightweight for a knife this size)
COMMENTS: Has the new Sealed Thrust Bearing System or STBS. I'm not entirely sure how this works... but it does have a very smooth action. I really like the Integral lock back design that is patented by Glenn Klecker (a former engineer at Leatherman Tools). Lightweight titanium scales are machined for extra texture and reduced mass, the satin finished blade is constructed of BG-42 that has been "scallop 3D carved"... a really cool feature. The blade and scales have cut outs for easy right or left hand opening as well as a flipper that also serves as and index finger guard in the open position. It has an cross-etched titanium pocket clip can be mounted for for tip up or tip down carry. There is also a lanyard hole in the handle. This knife model won 'Most Innovative' design at the 2010 Blade Show... I now can see why!! Great looking knife, good blade design, super light knife that you don't even feel in your pocket. Is it worth the money spent... absolutely. Now go out and get one!!
