hey guys im new to customs and i am thinking about getting my first custom folder. the other day i was in a knife shop and the owner was showing me a brian tighe titanium tighe breaker the knife was abosolutely gorgeous and the price was alot but for custom knives it didnt seem to bad what do you guys think about his knives and do you have any advice for someone like me new to customs?

I just got one and man it's very nice..way thin and super strong. The flipper works very good to.Carries very well in your pocket to.Just a great knife you wont be sorry geting one:thumbup:

I would recommend Tighe's work. I saw and handled a few of his knives at the Canadian Guild show last month. I was very impressed. Smooth action and sold lock-up. His fluted Ti is also amazing.

I have owned several of his Tighe Breaker, My Tighe, Tighe Stick, Tighe Pan, and have liked all of them. Plus Brian is very good to work and deal with.

Brian is an artist and an excellent craftsman. Great guy, too. His knives not only look great, they work great. Check out the knife carefully for wear and solid lockup. Even the best knives can get abused. If it looks like it's in very good condition, and the price is competitive ( Tighes aren't hard to find on gthe net), I think you'll love it.

Great knifemaker and one of the finest people I have ever met. If a Tighe is going to be your first custom, you won't regret it.

thanks for the input guys its apreciated, im thinking im gonna wait a while for this one probaly till november or so because thats the next new york custom knife show and the website says hes gonna be there... for my first custom knife i would really like to meet the maker not just buy it from a store i really love the look and feel of his knives i have handled a few, im not really planning on cutting with it, im more looking into one of his tighe breakers with the abstract anodized pattern and holding on to it for a while

I love Brian Tighe work and how he uses his last name and tie it into naming his collection.

I found out that he is collaborating with CRKT.
I don't know if this would help in spreading his name and collection.
CRKT is an affordable copy of his Tighe Breaker and My Tighe using milder steels and imported labour.

Just be aware that his knives tend to go fast at those shows.
