I've wanted a Tighe Stick since the first moment I saw one, based on photos and Brian Tighe's reputation. Wouldn't you?
Bg-42 blade, sculpted titanium framelock. It just arrived today thanks to UPS and the good folk at Arizona Custom Knives. It's advertised as a 4 inch blade - it actually measures to 3 7/8. I took it out of the shipping box and it was something truly special.
Never before has a knife truly exceeded my expectations like this one.
Fit and finish are exceptional, from countersunk screwholes in the clip to the rock solid lock up, with no side to side play at all. Only the Skirmish and Sebenza are equally solid. The sculpting is exceptional, and isn't sharp to the hand at all, and the fit in the hand is outstanding - if you ignore the swirls and only look at the outline of the handle, you can see why it feels like holding a Kasper Crawford knife. It came shaving sharp, with a very keen flat grind, and the fluting in the blade perfectly done. Every corner of this knife is just so well accomplished, it's a joy to play with. It's a bit stiff, but a little rem-oil and about 300 openings will smooth it well out.
So here's a bunch of photos, so you can see how it looks and how big it is compared to other knives (there's a Skirmish, a large Sebenza, and a Lone Wolf T2 in Cocobolo), and also a few detail shots. The clips was very well designed and the least intrusive of any clip I've ever had... but I couldn't get over my innate dislike of clips so I took it off. Unfortunately it left two holes, but better that than the clip.
Anyway, total winner of a knife. Here's the shots:
