Brick and mortar sources for GSM unlocked phones?

Does anyone here know if there are any store chains that sell GSM unlocked phones in their establishments? I know these are available online, but I'm curious if there any big box stores or other places that carry these, as opposed to phones that are intended for use with some service plan (such as Go Phones and Ampd Mobile and so on).

Frys used to, if you have one of those in your area. You can also usually find a shady cell store in the not nice parts of town that will sell you an unlocked one.

They have a kiosk in the mall in Lafayette Indiana that sells them...not even the shady part of the mall...lol...

I usually just buy the phone I want and ship it off to have it unlocked. I've done this several times. I can't seem to remember the company though...I can look and find it if your interested. They were super fast and did a great job. Turn around time was a few days. It's a good alternative to finding what your looking for.

I've bought unlocked GSM phones from both of these places, nothing shady about them at all. What is shady is the big mobile telco providers locking phones in the first place...

I believe you can buy on of the prepaid phones and put your SIM in there. Make sure that the phone you buying uses a SIM though.
