I don't usually post much when people post pictures, but that bowie looks real nice. And its your third one? That's incredible. It has good lines and is the proper size for a bowie. Keep up the great work.

Darren, that really is a very good looking knife. I think the blade looks great without a ricasso. And the yellow of the osage goes great with the heat coloured fittings. The sheath looks very classy. This knife is a tremendously impressive third knife. You have great potential, sir.

Now for my only complaint; you cut off one end of the butt on the picture. I would really appreciate getting to see a picture of the whole knife so that I can really appreciate the overall aesthetics.

I definitely agree with the others: that's a nice-looking big bowie. Thanks for sharing the pic.

Cheers,

Roger

Congratulations, that is a fine Bowie. I really like the Osage, and the guard. Welcome to the forums.

you third knife? I hate you, really I do! Just kidding, it is wonderful! Great! Paul

Thanks Allot you guys.

It was a blast making it, and I learned a great deal.
Your kind words are an inspiration :D

love it--what is the guard made of(like that look)? Nice long blade going to a nice sleek point. Like the way you put stuff in the picture along with the knife--good idea.

Wow !! Third knife ??? More like 3rd sword !!! Cos they usually only get bigger from here ... :D

Personally, I prefer a clean cut plunge cut, but just as many people like the graduated grind. Also, it suits the overall design. I do really like the picture and frankly the handle is pretty neat. Its a double thumbs-up knife !

A question, Darren - is this forged or stock removed ?

Thanx. Jason.

Thanks allot guys.

Hi Jason.
So far I have only done the stock removal, and thats what this blade is, I don't have a forge or any of the tools required to do any forging :( BUT, if I'm real lucky I might get the opportunity to try my hand at forging a blade real soon :D I'm a little nervous about trying it, but I know it's going to be a blast!!!

kcardwel: Thanks

The gard is some o-1 I had, I textured it and then heat colored it, same with the butt cap. I think the heat colored blue turned out pretty cool..
