Brief Pictorial History of Military Issue & Civilian SAK's

If that's your own personal collection, then it's very envy inducing.

I've always wondered, what's the original SAK like, that kicked off the whole line?

I have a couple 91mm knifes from the early 1900s. Not quite original 1897 but pretty close. What are they like? Well... actually quite similar to a modern SAK. Same size, much thicker tools, and all carbon steel. When you look at them you can see that they're definitly hand made, but very high quality. The tools snap back like a brand new knife. It's actually pretty impressive.
