Its grrrrrr8!!

The knife is 9 inches overall, with a 4" blade. The single-bevel chisel edge was remarkably sharp, and I quickly ran out of arm-hair. Then I shaved the whorls off my fingerprints:) It is a -sharp- knife.

The handle is also a work of functional art. I guess it is obvious that this is a full-tang, with ray-skin under the wrapping. The handle offers a sure non-slip grip, and is comfortable in the hand.

The sheath holds the knife firmly, releases it smoothly. The clip is -strong-; you'll not worry about losing the sheath.

The tolerances are nice and tight at all of the interfaces, and it is obvious Mr Leu takes great pride in his work, and rightly so.

Mr. Leu is making his knives from A-2. There is a lot more info (and great pictures) on his site at http://www.leucustom.com

This was a pleasant and rewarding experience, and I am already discussing another knife with him.

Don't know why images don't show, but you can find them at http://picasaweb.google.com/GhaltaiJida/LeuCustomKnife

Jones---Thanks for your post. I love that Leu blade. When I first saw Pohan's work, I knew that this maker would soon get recognized. He blades are incredible.

I have seen him at several knife shows over the years. His knives are really nice, and he's a nice guy to talk to.

Nice blade!

I love the simplicity! I can imagine how sharp it is!
Thanks for the review!

I'm really grateful to Lycosa for referring me to Leu.

I've looked at the names you suggested, Lycosa, and liked nearly all of them. Who is a skilled young smith you'd suggest? Most of my knives are ground, rather than forged, and I'd like to keep some balance.

Jonesjp---Thank you. Micheal Bell and Sean McWilliams, come to mind. These guys have been around for awhile. As far as a young forger, I'm not sure. Wait for some other knuts to chime in and offer names. I know some good ones are out there. Thanks!
Rolf

Just ordered one from him last week. Definitely looking forward.
Anybody have a chance to compare his chisel grind vs double V grind?

I don't think i've ever sold a V grind to anyone on here :) So maybe you or this other guy will be the firsts on here.
