BRIGHT dress watch

I need some help finding a great dress watch that is as bright (in the dark) as my Luminox. I have looked at the Luminox 4011 and really like it (looks and function) but am always wanting to make sure that I have reviewed all my options.

Under $500 is my desire and I don't really need anything that can survive on Mars or at the center of the Earth, so the "extreme watches" are not my thing for this. This watch will be worn everyday with a suit, so style is imprortant. The main thing (after style) is the brightness of the hands...as bright or brighter than Luminox brands would be preferred.

Thanks for your help...

Luminox is about the brightest you can get. You can, in a pinch, read by it (though not a novel)! I'd check Sierra Trading Post, using their "brand name" search. Now-and-then they have a Luminox for a fine price - tempting enough for me to almost buy (another) one!
Good luck!

Nice website - with my usual complaint: no prices!

Price points define your target market.

(at least "suggested retail price" would give me some idea of the range I'm looking at. For example, is the "Railroader" selling for $100 or $1,000.??)

Are the indices brighter than my Luminox "Stealth" watch? The next time we have a power blackout, I can help land 747's at the airport with that watch!

Luminox makes a nice watch but I wouldn't call them dress watches...but it depends on the occasion I suppose. There are LOADS of watches that can be had for around 500 bucks including used Tudor, TAG, and Omega that would be more suitable for dress occasions. I wear an Omega SMP for dress occasions with superluminova which takes a very nice charge although it is dwarfed by my Luminox 3001.

Hey, just noticed your an Eagle, I am also although I got mine in 94.

The Ball stuff looks nice, but I e-mailed Ball for an "Authorized Ball Jeweller" in my area and they did not respond. Their site says they do not authorize online sales, and you have to buy ball watches from an authorized Ball jeweller to get warranty coverage.

Too bad...I really liked a couple of their watches...

I've worn the Luminox Field Commander 4010 for nearly two years now. I've been pleased with the watch and really appreciate the ability to read the time when it's completely dark. I'm certainly no style expert; but, I'd say this watch will pass for a dress watch by most folks standards.

Shop around some if you decide to go with this watch -- I've seen this Luminox model series on sale before when crusing the Web.
