Bring back Firefly, the series

Anyone else liking Firefly, the TV series?

Dang shame Fox screwed up so badly with this one, as the acting is really good, and the storylines are also very well done.

Maybe with the popularity of the Serenity movie someone will resurrect the Firefly series.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if it happens. The series is running on SciFi right now, isn't it? If anyone is going to bring back this sort of show, it's them.

One problem. The Serenity movie, while liked by almost everyone who sees it, is still not being seen by as many people as it probably should have. Last I heard it was sort of right on track for doing "OK." But it still has it's DVD life ahead of it, which might be huge. The previews are often said to not do the movie justice. Or maybe it's not the kind of movie people are used to seeing previews for. It's a little different from the standard action junk people know how to judge before a friend makes them watch it. I'll bet sales and rentals of Serenity will be much higher than average.
 
I'd be surprised to see the series revive, as Wheadon has too many irons in the fire. However, the movie appears to have done well enough that we might expect sequels.

I don't know the source on this, but apparently Whedon said that he's realized he likes doing movies better than TV. So I imagine we'd be looking at more Serenity movies rather than another series.
 
Watched a 30 min special on Serenity on Sci Fi a few weeks ago, A interview with Whedon was aired, he said he had no intention of bringing the series back but had 5-6 more movies on the table if this one does well.
