Am I alone in wanting Cold Steel to bring back stag handled Trailmasters? I wanted one of these so badly in the 1980s but I just couldn't afford one. I did pick up a carbon V model in 1988 and a stainless one in the 1990s, but the stag handled ones disappeared before I felt comfortable dropping the dough. I almost never see the old ones for sale on the secondary market either.

Same here. I wish I would have bought one when they were available.

i had a carbon V Trailmaster as my main user for years but hated the Kraton handle. i would have loved a stag but they are hard to find., I've moved on to other knives but a stag would still be very cool.

I've owned two over the years and ended up selling both cause they just never felt "right" in the hand. Both the feel of the stag and the balance were just off. I really wanted to like them, which is why I bought the second one. I'm pretty sure I read on line that the stag Trailmaster is not full tang, which might affect the balance somewhat. Still. I have both the Natchez and Laredo, which both have that weird wire tang, and they are both very well balanced. Another alternative... Buy a kraton handled one and have it rehandled with stag. Prolly wouldn't be too expensive compared to the price of the stag handled Trailmaster on today's market. Shrug.

I would have stag put on one of my kraton handled ones if I just wanted it for looks. But since I want a stag handled one purely for collection purposes, it pretty much defeats the purpose. Kinda messes with the resale value too, though I probably wouldn't be reselling it for a couple of decades.....if ever.

Well...yeah, goes without saying but, not being psychic, just thought I'd make the suggestion. ;')
