Buck Knives, I hope you are listening. Please bring back the 110 in paperstone, but make it much slimmer (even if you have to reinforce it). G10 woruld be the second choice.

I want new colors, too. Autumn burnt orange, apple or leaf green, charcoal gray, deep royal blue.

I thought the 110 and 112 paper stone model handles were the right thickness. They fit my hand well. Plus, they were light and it had a liner. If you do it with G-10 handles it will be heaiver. DM

YES.

A move from about 15mm to something like 13mm (1/2") would make a big difference. Still fat enough to give a good hold (fatter than the 500) but easier to pocket carry than the original.

The originals had partial liners. I would like to see a reboot with full liners. Better yet, full brass liners. Why? Because brass liners are beautiful and I want a prettier Ecolite.

I would also prefer that they drop the finger grooves. They have enough modern looking knives in the line up. The lines of the original 110/112 are perfect the way they are.

I would prefer that they stick with Paperstone, over G10 myself. I found it a very pretty, warm looking material. There are enough G10 knives in the world. It wouldn't be the worse thing in the world. But, I did like the Paperstone a lot.

- 1/2" thick
- Full brass liners
- No finger grooves
- Larger pivot washer

Would be beautiful. I'd buy buckets of them.

I really like the paperstone knives as well. A bit thinner would be nice also.

Sounds like we need to get SK blades involved in getting Buck to make a run.

I am good with partial liners, but I insist on a little slimmer knife handle. I also like the paperstone for its "warmth". I think it looks as good as micarta, overall. I know this is not the first time we have talked about this, but so far Buck has not listened. I did not want them to think we had forgotten our cause. ;)

Nod.

I've been doing a lot of soul searching about this, mostly pondering why I carry a Case Sodbuster more than any 110 variant.

For me, the knife has to be beautiful, in the traditional knife sense of the word.

Buck makes enough modern looking knives and I personally don't want a modernized 110. What I want is a lighter, more pocket friendly knife that is just as beautiful as either the original 110 or a Case Sodbuster.

I found the partial liners on teh Ecolites to diminish the traditional beauty of the knife. They also gave a weird, hollow feel to the well.

I've never had or even had the chance to handle a paperstone 110. I hear great things about them and would love to see them back in circulation. It seems like they were a very popular model, so is there a reason why there was limited production?

My understanding is they didn't sell too well.

I had one of the 112s and passed it along. I found it to be an awkward "tweener" design. Lacked the features of modern knives (thin, clip, one hand opening) but too modern looking and feeling to be a beautiful traditional knife (partial scales, funky looking but functional finger grooves). Seems to me that they were trying to replicate the original Bucklites only to find that most people who would have loved the Bucklite 30 years ago are, today, more interested in knives like the Vantage or Bantam.

I think a thinner, prettier version aimed at fans of traditional knives would be a better bet.

I agree with you pinnah. I'd like to see that too. It would be a great fishing knife or something to take on short hiking trips, etc.. I kind of see Bantam models in that light, but they could be a little bit sturdier IMO.

I agree. The knife should get rid of any weird finger thingies and look more the shape of the original 110 but slimmer and lighter. To me, the 110 is the most aesthetically pleasing knife. It is simply beautiful in appearance. That is why it has been copied so often and by so many.
