Bring back the Mini Tuff Lite

The Mini Tuff Lite was one of the best small knives out there. It is a fantastic scraper, cutter, and utility knife. What is more, it is the best pill cutter I have ever used. One of the problems is that many knives are too thick behind the edge, not so the MTL. Also, the actual pill cutters allow tiny pills to slide around and make it impossible to get a good cut. The MTL was extremely sharp and thin behind the edge. It cuts little pills easily.

I wish I had bought more of them when they were available.

Please bring it back. I do not care if it is black or venom green, just bring back the little knife.

It's got the most utility for the smallest blade, and that choil means I get an extra finger of grip. I would love to see it make a return.

I just received an email from BladeHQ with the Mini Tuff Lite at $22.99. Plain edge and serrated, black only. I'm not sure if this is new production or they just found some extras. I'm sure it has been out of stock in the past when I checked.

Agreed. My Mini Tuff Lite gets used for certain delicate tasks more than any of my other knives. It's just so precise yet it can generate a huge amount of cutting power!

I just ordered a red Tuff Lite but that Blade HQ price for the Mini is too good to resist... gah, yet another knife

Thanks for the info.
I just got a plain edge in black.

My wife carried a black serrated mini for years.
These are solid little cutters that are easy to carry, usually I carry mine in the watch pocket.
Knifeworks had pink ones but sold out a couple months ago.

These knives were perfect for a lot of things. I had to scrape glue from the outside of one of my wife's porcelain items that got broken and I did a poor job gluing. I used too much glue. I tried the usual scapers but they were not accurate enough. I got out my little MTL and it was so good at the job you could not see where I glued the pieces at all.

I also use this knife for cutting little tiny pills in half and in quarters. It works for me better than those pill cutters.

I like the MTL more than the TL, to be honest.

I learned my lesson and ordered 2. Even if they go back into production, I am still happy to get a couple of spares to leave around.

How odd it is that a lot of knife users do not appreciate something until it is gone. We often chase the latest fad and get pumped up by rave review, when actual solid performers like the MTL fall by the wayside.

This has been the case as long for as I've been involved in the knife business. Best summed up in the old saying/song title "You Don't Miss Your Water 'Til Your Well Runs Dry".

I carried the Tuff Lite for a while and liked it, but wished it had some curve to the blade. I tried the Mini too, but found it too small.

I've been playing with the mini's I ordered for the last couple days. I don't see them as something I'm going to carry on a regular basis, but that short, straight, hollow ground blade seems like it could be really useful for some specific tasks and I'm definitely glad I got a chance to pick them up finally.

Agree they are great for specific tasks, or if you need to have a knife but are in a "sheeple heavy" environment. I gave one to my sister when they first came out and showed her some things she could do if she ever needed to dissuade someone with bad intentions. I don't look at ebay often, but think I saw some there that were NIB last time I looked.

I got my order. Seems to be some confusion about the steel. I guess they are AUS 8A then.

The reintroduced 2020 "Mini" Tuff Lite is in 4034SS steel. The Original version of the "Mini" Tuff Lite was discontinued in 2015; it was in AUS 8A steel. The steel type was Not put on the knife.

The regular size Tuff Lite is made in AUS 8A steel.

Steel information from the CS 2020 catalog. Hope it helps.
