Bring back the Wegner!

It's a Great Knife! You might check House Of Blades in Ft Worth Texas. I bought one of these there not too long ago. It seems like they always have discontinued knives in stock, although they do charge Full Retail! The Wegner is a nice blend of features, and is a solid knife !

One of the greatest Spyderco's for sure. I seriously doubt it will be brought back since Tim Wegner's Blade Tech is making them now.

I really did like that full length stainless backspacer.

The C-48 & C49 Wegner's are my all time favorite Spydies. I'd love to see them come back to the line up!

You're dead on. After getting one stolen, I scrounged around and found another on the 'net. Should look for another (I like to buy in two's), so I have a backup. Maybe I'll buy Wegner's new version he sells at Blade-Tech.

The only thing that might make the knife better is if it had a back/spine lock like the Keating Chinook. Otherwise, it's maybe the one small folder that does it all: gen' use, hunting/skinning, CQB (not that I'd know!). Well, it and my Reeves Sebenza, but they're too expensive to abuse/lose. :)

I sure do love mine, and yes I do wish they would bring back the Wegner. Locks up tight, holds a decent edge, and fits perfect in my hand.

The problem with bringing stuff back, though, is that all the people who want them to bring it back already have one, so invariably sales probably aren't that good. It's just speculation, but it seems to make sense to me. Also, the revised Wegner would be different from the original in key ways, undoubtedly, as things have changed at Spyderco quite a bit since the Wegner was made, so everyone who has one would also say "Ahhh, not as good as the original..." :D

I say bring back the Starmate, since I don't have one of those already! :D

Tim Wegner now owns the patent rights for the Full sized Wegner design and the "mouse" version.

Spyderco retains rights to make the mid sized version (Ocelot) which is still in the works.

Thanks for the info, Sal. I'm eagerly awaiting the Ocelot! The full size version was a perfect size for me though. I wish y'all and Tim could work out a production run again.

I always thought that there should be something in-between a C48 & a C49.
I'll be first to order up a Ocelot when they are available!

Yeah, and me! I look forward to the Ocelot.

It is because of Dennis, and all of his praise for the Wegner that I decided to get one back when.

They have the both types full size and a couple of smaller Wegners...

the only problem is, they want full retail for them... about $153.00 for the big one...

I should have never gotten used to paying about $80 for them.

Is the Ocelot the same knife as the Trakk'r ?

I am myself the proud owner of the C-48 version. I will not part with it at all. No trade possibilities what so ever. Question:? Is ATS-34 the only blade steel they made that one with? Also was G-10 the only handle it was available in? Thanks guys/gals the forum sure has been a blast for the short time I have been here. :)

I thinks the answers are yep and yep, there hasn't been variations for this one.

I know it's couple months old thread... however, I'm still wondering if there is any chance for this knife. And when of course...
