I would really like to see a BASIC CGFBM with real comfortable RES-C grips. I don't know if its ever been offered or considered but I know I would buy this knife within minutes of its offering. If this sounds good to you, lets squeal till Jerry can't take it anymore!

SQUEAL!!!!!!

I think that would pretty much be an INFI dogfather with a wider blade

I'd be down for 3!

I guess it would be worth asking...what do you see being different from the B10 or B11? The handle?? Wider blade? CBT? (Edited to Add) ...Or the tang??

Squeal!

I've been thinking along very similar lines. although I think I'd prefer a Basic SHBM.

One small thing that puts me off about the B9 or 10 is that theyre a bit thinner... would be nice in a .25 or .26

Great question Jaxx. I was just about to pull the trigger twice on the B10, the first time when they were first offered and more recently when Voxhog offered a squeal of a deal on two. The primary thing that stopped me was the height of the blade. The second is the thickness. The CGFBM is tall and thick. I also like those lines on the side of the CGFBM and the B10 and B11 didnt have them. The reason I havent purchased a CGFBM on the secondary is its handle. Although Busse has won me back over to micarta, I think chopping may be more fun with the res-c. Kalel asked great question, how about a "fresh" Basic Grip design? Who knows what Jerry and the gang could dream up for us?
BTW, heres one more high pitched SQUEAL!!! for you Jerry.

Please make it happen in my lifetime. The bacon and booze are catching up to me. LOL

While I do not have a micrometer, my Basic 9 looks to be right at .25" thick.

I gotcha. Good answer! ...Well, even though my B11 makes me happy, I think that I'd be all over a Res-CCGFBM, myself. :)

Just out of curiosity, as I am still new here, how often do requests like this go answered? I know at blade, Garth held up something that didn't really interest me, but the rest of the crowd had a joygasm with a gasp of "FINALLY!!!". The tickets were thrown and people were hurt :) I can't remember what blade it was and if was something Jerry said they would make originally and it took awhile or that people requested it and finally got it or whatever.

Break me off a piece of that old school wisdom...

I think I am going to save up to get one made in the custom shop. It would be cool to have a 1 of 1 Battle Mistress. I wonder how long a project like this would take? Probably two weeks.

Happens. It takes a while though.

Some times decades.

The Muck is one. If I remember Khukri was a response too?

We beg for stuff enough, Jerry does listen often.

Thin-fi.

Higher hardness infi.

infi dogfather , may be well suited your need.

Well, you do realize that the Basic 11 is .27" thick right? And the CBT was to take off a bit of weight and still reinforce the strength right?
Sometimes when someone ask for something to be made, we think it would be a great idea. But just think, Jerry and others do this for a living, if you want it in a way that would not serve the proper purose, he won't post it and tell you. He just won't make it. And the Custom Shop won't make just anything you want, if they don't think it will function properly and it will break, they won't make it.
This I think this is why they came out with the Basic 11 and Basic 10 LE, I don't think a taller blade will work. Most people I I know love the basic 11 or 10 as it is. If the blade was much taller adding too much weight to the blade, it might be harder to hold on to the smaller handle. Busse thinks of things people here don't.
