Bringing back older SOG models?

Was thinking about this the other day. GSM owns both Cold Steel and SOG now. CS seems able to get their old Japanese models made properly in Taiwan these days. Anyone else hope SOG could do that? They had some winners from the 1990s that'd be nice to see on the market again. Maybe with new steels or other improvements.

It would be nice to see some of the older designs made again, but I think it will just never happen.
There are probably all sorts of reasons, mostly financial/economical, that it would not pay off to make the old designs again.
If you shop around with a clear goal, you will eventually find some good examples of the old school knives, which are perfectly useable.

Hard to improve on the Sog Tomcat 3.0, VG10 with Ark Lock. Plus my older original Tomcat with AUS6 is also awesome. JoeX also loves AUS6 AUS8 ect.

GSM has been "mixed " , both good and bad , in how they've managed Cold Steel .

At the low end , some stuff now being marketed under the Cold Steel brand name, is just shamefully junky ; and I don't believe LCT would have ever stooped that low .

The Taiwan made fixed blades ,and Tri-ad lock folders , have held the line on quality , so far , in my experience .

SOG had already sunk pretty low , so hard to tell if GSM will improve or degrade the brand .

I loved SOG , back in the '80's . Seki Pentagon daggers etc .:thumbsup::thumbsup:
